Question: What is a lash lift?

Answer: It's a perm for your lashes!

Just like old-school perms from the '80s, lash lifts set a curl to your natural lashes using a chemical solution. A lift is comparable to what your lashes look like with a good mechanical curler, only (much**) longer lasting.

If you have stubborn, short, or straight lashes this would be a great option for you! (And less damaging than curling at home everyday, which can cause breakage.)

When your lashes are curled at the root, they will appear longer, and a fresh black tint will make them look more defined. Some people decide to get lash extensions, which will offer you more dramatic results, but require more upkeep. If you are having trouble deciding between lash extensions or a lash lift, give us a call and we will set you up a complimentary consultation for you!

The lash lift process takes about an hour (so make sure to check your planner before scheduling), and your eyes will need to remain closed the entire time, so I recommend silencing your phone. It's best to come in with no eye makeup, but if you do, no worries, we will give you a makeup wipe.

First a silicone mold is placed on your eyelid using a basic lash adhesive. The adhesive is then applied on top of the mold and the lashes are combed up, onto the form to take their new, super-curled shape. This is when the eye-safe perming solution is applied.

The perm solution acts as a softener to soften the bond of your hair so that it's moldable. The perm lotion is left on for approximately 10 min. Then a setting solution is applied. The setting solution hardens everything back up and restructures the bond to lock in your new shape. After the perm, we tint your top and bottom lashes with a deep black tint. We recommend to avoid getting the lashes wet for the first 24 hours, you can still shower and wash your face, just try to be a little more careful that first day. And after that, you are free to touch and wash your lashes as usual. And yes, you can certainly apply mascara, it will amplify your results.

A lot of clients especially love this service during the summer months, when they are spending time at the beach and pool, and don't want to bother with mascara. Clients that wear glasses also love this service, because mascara can sometimes smudge on their lenses.

A lash lift will last about six to eight weeks. We usually recommend that our clients prebook at the eight-week mark for a refresh. Some people like to refresh the tint at 4 weeks, before they are ready for a new lift, because the tint usually fades a little faster than the curl. As you naturally lose lashes, a straight one will grow in behind it, so you will slowly start to notice that your lashes don't seem as curled or as dark as they were freshly after your lift and tint.

A lash lift AND tint is $50 and a lash tint alone is $20 (*unless advertised at a limited-time discounted rate).
